This past weekend there was a great turnout for Crazy Days and the Stettler Show N Shie. Mainstreet was bustling with families taking in the midway and specials. Meanwhile on Saturday June 19th the Stettler Mall Parking lot was full with vintage vehicles and admirers.

Are you starting to plan your summer holidays? The Stettler Museum has free admission on Canada Day from 10:00am to 4:00pm! There will also be hot dogs, a miniature train display, cake and speeder rides. Come check out the 5th Largest Pioneer Museum in Alberta!

The weekend of July 23rd to 25th Endiang will be celebrating their Centennial! Friday come to the meet and greet campfire for a few sing-alongs and to enjoy the casual atmosphere. On Saturday there will be a parade and opening ceremonies to start off the party. Through the weekend there will be local entertainment and time to celebrate Endiang's 100th birthday!

The Stettler Side by Side Shoot Out hits the tarmac on July 24th and 25th at the Stettler Airport. There will be a 1/8 Mile Shoot Out! From 10:00am to 5:00pm tires will be burning. Food and concession will be available along with camping. Bleacher seating will be available to enjoy the show!

The Stettler Steel Wheel Stampede is the most fun you'll have with your boots on! On August 13th- 15th come to the Stettler Ag. Society for our 2nd annual Semi-Pro Rodeo. On Saturday the 14th at 3:00pm will be the Stettler Steel Wheel Parade weaving through the streets of Stettler. On Saturday we're excited to announce Gord Bamford will be performing at our Grand Stand Show! There is sure to be something for everyone!

Lacombe Days 2010

Lacombe Days

The three-day event starts Thursday, July 15 and kicks off with evening barbeque's and a drive-in movie. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday each begin with a pancake breakfast.

On Friday, the Sports and Leisure Complex will be hosting the LA Youth Kiddies Carnival with swimming and other fun and games for young children and parents. Alberta's Own Independent Music Festival will also be providing entertainment throughout the weekend. Friday night fireworks top off the evening after dusk. The beer gardens and concession stand at Michener Park opens at noon on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and there will also be a Midway this year, with rides for all ages.

Saturday starts with a pancake breakfast at Michener House , followed by the downtown parade at 10 a.m. The rest of Saturday is packed full of fun including our Annual Show and Shine, Art in the Park at the Lacombe Memorial Centre, blacksmith shop museum demonstrations, and self-guided historical and mural tours. 

Sunday winds up the event with a community church service, the Light Horse Show at the Research Station, and of course the last day of rides at the midway.

The Market @ Red Deer is now in full swing of its 2010 season! Every Saturday morning from 8am to 12:30 pm starting May long weekend through to Thanksgiving the Red Deer Arena parking lot comes to life with the buzz or shoppers, vendors and entertainers. This weekly market has been a long standing favorite by those in the Red Deer area for many years as the Market is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.

Start the morning by taking in the sights, sounds and shopping of the Market @ Red Deer, while still able to enjoy being outside in the nice summer weather. Take advantage of the seasonal fresh fruits and vegetables, plants, furniture, herbal medicines, raffle tickets, candy, toys, clothing, "garage sale" specials, and much more. L.A. Vintage Machinery Club Antique Equipment Show

Don't miss out on Lacombe's 27th Annual Antique Show at the Central Alberta Agricultural Society Grounds (North end of the Research Station). There will be Saw Mill, Pony Brake, Threshing & Bailing, Binder, and Pulling demonstrations all weekend long.

A pancake breakfast will be also be hosted both mornings of the show. Come out for some unique community fun, whether you're a local with an interest in the equipment and sights or an avid farmer there to enjoy the vintage farming atmosphere. There will also be a silent auction and a vintage "toy show". The show runs from 10:00am - 5:00pm on both Saturday, June 19th and Sunday June, 20th.

Lacombe's highly anticipated horse race track is finally up and running in perfect time for race season! Whether you just love horses or are a die hard racing fan, watching and taking part in the events at Alberta Downs is fun for all ages and a fantastic way to spend a summer day with family and friends. The only other tracks in Alberta are located in Edmonton, Lethbridge and Grand Prairie, so when in the area, take advantage of a great experience. "See you at the Races!".

Stettler Gears Up for Summer

Although it may not have seemed like summer was approaching after this past weekend's snowfall, Stettler is getting ready for the sunshine! On Saturday June 5th join the Downtown Merchants and Parks & Leisure for Stettler's Annual Art Walk from 10am to 5pm on Main Street. Enjoy music, a BBQ, a caricature artist, as well as all the beautiful art work being displayed by local artists.

Crazy Days will also be back to Main Street June 18th & 19th. With West Coast Amusements midway set up from 3pm-10pm on Friday and 11pm-9pm on Saturday. Stop by for some fun!

On June 18th The Stettler Relay For Life will be hosting the 2nd Annual Relay to raise funds for the fight to end cancer.

On June 19th on the East Side of West Stettler Park take a look at some "cool rides" before the Stettler Show N' Shine cruise through the streets of Stettler and make their way on a scenic tour to Big Valley.

As you can see we're off to a great start with plenty of activities happening in the Stettler Community!

Wetaskiwin Air Show

For the first time, the CF-18 Hornet Demonstration Team is coming to the Wetaskiwin Air Show, August 7th and 8th, 2010 at the Reynolds-Alberta Museum.

Other exciting spectacles include the Canadian Forces Snowbirds, the Canadian Forces Skyhawks Parachute Demonstration Team, Melissa Remberton in her Edge 540, Team Rocket and much more!

Tickets go on sale June 1, 2010.

Tickets in advance: Youth (6-17 years) $5
                            Adult (18+ years) $15
