PrintE-mail

The 12th Annual Festival of Lights has wrapped up and with the help of many attendees and sponsors money has been raised to help enhance colonoscopy and gastroscopy procedures at the Stettler Hospital and Care Centre.

This year the numbers of attendants and sponsors increased. Approximately 150 people attended the "Dessert Night", 260 seniors dropped in for the "Seniors' Tea", and 270 people each attended the "Sounds of the Season Concert" and the "Gala Night". "Kid's Day" was a huge success with over 500 kids coming by! There were crafts, cocoa, cookies, and Santa Claus with the real reindeer and sleigh rides proving to be the biggest hit.

The Festival of Lights was excellent overall and the Committee is looking forward to running it next year!

Following Kid's Day on Nov. 27th, Atco Electric sponsored the Tree Light Up on Mainstreet. Our Male Citizen of the Year, Owen Blake, turned the lights on to kick off the Christmas Season. Many families came out to enjoy the Moonlight Madness. Nathan hot dogs were sold by Atco raising funds for the Stettler Victim Services and Stettler Christmas Cash Card participants sponsored Santa by the tree and goodie bags for the kids. It was a great time to bring out the holiday spirit!
