Historic Downtown Tours in Lacombe!

June was a busy month for school groups here in Lacombe! With classes
coming to an end and the sun finally deciding to make an appearance, JS
McCormick School, Terrace Ridge School, and Upper Elementary School took
advantage of the opportunity to tour Lacombe's historic downtown. Popular
spots to tour included the Michener House Museum, Blacksmith Shop, and the
Flatiron Building. Approximately 100 students were toured through the
Flatiron Building this month and soaked up some local history by watching
a short film in the old Lux Theatre seats in the basement of the Flatiron.
Parent helpers and teachers were very impressed with the upkeep of our
historic buildings and the idea of having staff provide guided tours of
these landmarks. 



Our next scheduled tours will take place on Canada Day.
