Lacombe: Thursday, 21 February 2008 00:00
Gord Bamford’s latest album “Honkytonks And Heartaches” has been honoured with a nomination for a 2008 JUNO in the category “Country Recording Of The Year”. The nomination is a first for the Lacombe, Alberta resident, and represents another page in the success story that has been building since the September release of “Honkytonks And Heartaches”.
The album was recently recognized by Country Music News as the “Canadian Album Of The Year”. It follows hot on the heels of his # ONE CMT video and top charting Canadian single “Blame It On That Red Dress”. In January, 2008, the second single “Stayed ‘Til Two” was released and after a #1 Most Added at country radio, the song has seen a meteoric rise to # 13 on the Canadian charts in only its third week.
Gord says of the nomination, "I am extremely thrilled to have been nominated for a 2008 Juno.I am truly grateful to everyone for their support over the years. This nomination is a huge honor and a testament to the hard work the Gord Bamford team has been able to put forward. Thank you to all Country Music Fans, Country Radio and CMT Canada for all the support."
