Christmas in Markerville a Sweet Success!

Christmas in Markerville was a 'sweet' success for our non-profit society as we were able to raise money to assist with the expenses associated with operating the Historic Markerville Creamery Museum, Historic Fensala Hall, Historic Markerville Lutheran Church and the Tindastoll Cemetery. All credit to the success of this event goes to the extraordinary volunteers who give so much of themselves to the Stephan G. Stephansson Icelandic Society in Markerville.Sales of Cookie Boxes were halted briefly on Saturday afternoon when we actually ran out of cookies and had to put the call out to our volunteers!
By Sunday morning we had 500 dozen fresh cookies delivered (some of them still warm!) and were able to fill our Cookie Walk again. In total, we had over 1,700 dozen homemade cookies donated by our incredible volunteers - that's over 20,000 cookies!
The vendors at both locations did a wonderful job of providing a variety of shopping choices for over 1,200 visitors. Some of our vendors even baked cookies for us on Saturday night! Thank you to everyone who supported this festive fundraising event.
