Highland Games
This June 26, come on down for Red Deer's 63rd annual Highland Games! Experience a taste of Scotland through the competitions, the vendors and the Sheep Dog trials (not to be missed!).
Games start at 8:00 a.m. with competitions in Highland Dancing, Piping and Drumming, and Heavy Field Events. These events require prior entry to compete, but spectators are welcome! A number of vendors will be selling their Scottish wares, and some clans will set up information booths. A children’s play area will feature supervised activities and there will be a beer garden offering ongoing entertainment throughout the afternoon.
A shortbread contest is also available at the Games: you are invited to bring a sample of “Granny’s Special Recipe” to enter, and there is no prior registration or entry fee for this contest.
Admission: Adult - $7.00
Students/Seniors - $5.00
Children (under 10) – free
Programs - $5.00
