6TH ALBERTA PROVINCIAL H.O.G.® RALLY AUGUST 14-16, 2008 RED DEER
2008 commemorates the 25th anniversary of the Harley Owners Group®, a Harley-Davidson® factory-sponsored owners group that was launched January 1, 1983. The management team of Harley-Davidson® was looking for ways to deepen the connection between company and customer and by the end of 1983, the group saw more than 30 000 members with the first H.O.G.® chapter forming in 1985. Now, there are over 1 million members and over 1400 chapters across the world making the Harley Owners Group® the largest sponsored motorcycle club in the world.The Red Deer Chapter of the Harley Owners Group® along with its sponsoring dealership, Gasoline Alley Harley-Davidson®, are hosting the 6th Alberta Provincial H.O.G.® Rally August 14-16, 2008. The first Alberta H.O.G.® rally took place in Nordegg, Ab in 1985 where members throughout Canada and the United States met in the western part of Central Alberta. Expecting in excess of 700 members this August, Harley-Davidson® enthusiasts travel from all parts of Canada, USA and abroad for three days of riding, camaraderie and festivities planned at the Westerner Grounds. Members take part in poker runs, self guided observation runs, bike games, a motorcycle show and shine, and visiting the many businesses in Red Deer and surrounding areas. The general public are invited to the Westerner Grounds Saturday August 16, 2008 to view the bike games and show and shine held in the northern most parking lot adjacent to the Centrium.
The Red Deer Chapter is very proud to showcase our beautiful city and surrounding area to those traveling to our event. Lacombe Country Singer Nominated for a Juno!
Gord Bamford’s latest album “Honkytonks And Heartaches” has been honoured with a nomination for a 2008 JUNO in the category “Country Recording Of The Year”. The nomination is a first for the Lacombe, Alberta resident, and represents another page in the success story that has been building since the September release of “Honkytonks And Heartaches”.

In fact, 33 of them jumped right into a freezing Sylvan Lake on Saturday, Feb. 16 at the Annual Polar Bear Dip. Mother Nature tried her best to cooperate for the day. The sun was shining, but the wind was seriously frosty and blowing with brute force!
