Rocky Mountain House Demolition Derby
Get your engines revving this August and don’t miss out on the 29th Annual Rocky Lions Club Demolition Derby on Sunday, August 29.
Located at the rodeo grounds in the North Saskatchewan River Park, the derby is a popular local event that has been thrilling spectators since 1981.The action begins with qualifying heats at noon, with the smash-up derby to follow at about 12:30 p.m. An admission fee is charged, and a full-service concession is open throughout the event.
In 2006, the Lions Demolition Derby set a record with 54 vehicles in four different classes duelling for automobile supremacy. Patrons are advised to arrive early to secure a good seat. There are bleachers, but spectators can bring their own chairs too. In addition to full-size and compact car fender bender and championship heats, there is also an event for pick-up trucks.
